PH.D. STUDENTS NATIONAL SCHOOL
The GRICU PhD National School - "Mathematical Methods for Chemical Engineering"
In 2007, GRICU (Chemical Engineering University Group) decided to set up a nationwide educational program in Chemical Engineering at doctorate level. To accomplish that mission, each year a one-week National School is organized in a different location in Italy. The aim of the School is to enable PhD students to enrich their knowledge in topics of general interest in the area of chemical engineering, as well as in more specific, technologicallyoriented application fields.
The core topic of the 2011 School (co-organized by our INCA Consortium) is "Mathematical Methods for Chemical Engineering", whereas the advanced application module will be devoted to Nanotechnologies. Each topic will be covered in a two-day module, according to the provisional program (check link).
The deadline for registrations has been postponed to
20 September 2011.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON WATER TREATMENT
SSS4-WATER (Small Sustainable Solutions)
The conference, held in Venice on 18-22 April 2011, was promoted by the International Water Association and organized by the Vencie Water Authority in collaboration with the School of Chemical Engineering for the Wastewater Treatment and the Renewable Resources, which groups seven Italian universities (University of Verona, University “Cà Foscari” of Venice, University of Padua, University of Trieste, University of Udine, University of Bologna and Marche Polytechnic University) and our Interuniversity Consortium "Chemistry for the Environment" (INCA).

We make available here the slides of the three keynote lectures:
1) "Extensive and Natural Systems for Wastewater Treatment" by Marcos Von Sperling
2) "Sequencing Batch Reactors for Small Municipal and Industrial Wastewater Treatment" by Roberto Ramadori
3) "New Sanitation (ecological or resource oriented), different socio-economic conditions" by Grietje Zeeman et al.
